Hydrogeology
Hydrogeology is the branch of science focusing and studying the origin and formation of groundwater. Its study is of vital importance to understand the behavior of polluting substances on the environment, which is why it is a basic science to evaluate complex environmental systems.
Hydrogeological studies are required in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) requested by SETENA, well drilling permits requested by SENARA, among other entities such as the AyA and the Municipalities that request it as a requirement to evaluate the impact of an activity, work or project on aquifers.
In Geo Costa Rica we are experts in the analysis of groundwater and aquifers for the analysis of vulnerability, transit of pollutants and influence with other bodies of water.
We work together with more professionals in exploratory drilling with core recovery and geophysics to generate detailed reports with relevant information that analysts of institutions like SENARA use to determine the impact of activities, works or projects on groundwater.

Among the hydrogeological studies carried out by Geo Costa Rica are the following:
- Infiltration tests.
- Analysis of vulnerability of aquifers.
- Analysis of the area of influence of bodies of water.
- Transportation of pollutants.
- Determination of the radius of protection of wells and springs.
