A hydrogeological study aims to analyze the distribution, movement, and quality of groundwater in the area. These studies are essential for planning projects that involve well drilling, water extraction, and the impact of human activities on water resources.

At Geo Costa Rica, we carry out a wide range of hydrogeological studies for different types of projects:

• Aquifer Vulnerability Studies: We assess the risk of contamination and overexploitation of groundwater aquifers, ensuring their long-term protection.

• Recharge and Discharge Area Analysis: We study the zones that recharge aquifers and the areas where groundwater flows to the surface, such as springs and wetlands.

• Infiltration and Hydraulic Conductivity Tests: We perform measurements to determine the soil’s capacity to absorb and transmit water, which is crucial for the design of drainage systems and aquifer recharge.

• Well Protection Radius Determination: We establish protection zones around wells and springs to prevent contamination and ensure the supply of drinking water.

Methodologies Used
