Objective: To analyze the physical and mechanical characteristics of the soil in order to determine its load-bearing capacity and the geotechnical recommendations required for foundation design.

Application: Essential for projects such as buildings, housing, commercial and industrial structures, earthworks, landfills, docks, retaining structures, bridges, viaducts, excavations, and roads.

Methodology: Geotechnical surveys are carried out through prospecting or exploratory drilling, defining the number and type of tests based on the geological information of the site.

Additional Consideration: If the project is located on land with slopes of 15% or more, a Slope Stability Assessment is included.

Objective: To assess the capacity of the watercourse to receive runoff generated by the project and verify that there is no flood risk to the proposed facilities.

Application: Required when the project increases surface runoff to the watercourse by more than 10%, due to soil impermeabilization or the addition of flows from irrigation or groundwater extraction.

Study: The basic hydrology of the watercourse is analyzed to determine its natural carrying capacity and to evaluate potential flood risks.

Objective: To ensure that the project design has considered the influence of anthropogenic risk sources present in the area.

Risk Sources Considered: Storage tanks for gas or fuels, electrical transmission lines, storage and handling of hazardous substances, pipelines, gas pipelines, among others.
