SENARA Certifications – Wells and Springs

The certifications issued by the National Service for Underground Water, Irrigation and Drainage (SENARA) are official documents that certify the existence of wells or springs registered in the institutional database. This process is essential for multiple environmental and water management procedures in Costa Rica.

What Are SENARA Certifications?

SENARA certifications provide a list of wells and springs located near the project site, based on official institutional records. They are used to validate existing hydrogeological information and support other technical procedures such as:

  • Environmental feasibility applications before SETENA.
  • Sanitary sewer exemption requests.
  • Water concession processes before the Water Directorate (MINAE).
  • Technical validation for urban or industrial projects.

Why Work with Geo Costa Rica?

Although the certification can be requested directly from SENARA, its true value depends on accurate site delimitation, technical interpretation, and consistency with other studies in the project. At Geo Costa Rica, we transform an administrative procedure into a reliable technical support tool.

1. Accurate Site Delimitation

We verify coordinates and polygons to ensure the certification is issued correctly.

2. SENARA Management

We prepare and submit the complete application, following up until the official document is issued.

3. Analysis and Interpretation

We deliver the certification with a technical map showing nearby wells and springs for context.
