Procedures at SETENA

The National Environmental Technical Secretariat (SETENA) is the institution in charge of managing the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes of any activity, work or project that is intended to be developed in Costa Rica. This institution is an organ of the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MINAE) and was created on November 13, 1995 through the Organic Law of the Environment No. 7554.

Any activity, work or project must have the Environmental Viability that SETENA extends to begin its development. In Geo Costa Rica we carry out the procedures in this institution to obtain the environmental viability of your project.

Procedures and studies we do for SETENA:

- Request for Environmental Viability (Forms D1 and D2).

-Environmental impact studies.

-Plan of Environmental Management.
